Nathaniel Adams Coles March 17, 1919, Montgomery, Alabama - February 15, 1965, Santa Monica, California, known by the stage name Nat King Cole, was an American jazz pianist and baritone singer. In 1937, he formed the King Cole Trio with guitarist Oscar Moore and bassist Wesley Pryson. Cole died at age 45 of lung cancer in Santa Monica, California.
