Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. The band was formed in 1996 and achieved international success with their first album, Hybrid Theory, in 2000. The rock band was certified diamond by the RIAA in 2005 and certified platinum in many other countries. Heavy airplay from the album's singles on MTV, released at the height of the nu metal scene, led to the singles "One Step "Closer", "Crawling" and "In the End" all hit the main US rock chart.
